The Denizli natural-gas combined-cycle power plant is RWE's first investment in Turkey.
RWE & Turcas Güney Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. is a joint venture between Turcas and RWE AG, combining global expertise with local knowledge to drive sustainable energy solutions in Turkey.
RWE holds a 70% share and Turcas 30%, reflecting a strong commitment to collaboration and innovation. The partnership is dedicated to advancing high standards of efficiency and environmental responsibility within the Turkish energy sector, delivering secure and reliable electricity to millions of households nationwide. To achieve these goals, RWE and Turcas operate a state-of-the-art 775 MW gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Honaz, as well as maintain offices in Ankara and Istanbul. Through these operations, RWE & Turcas Güney Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. continues to contribute to the transformation and development of Turkey’s energy landscape.
With a rooted history, Turcas (BIST: TRCAS) is a leading oil and energy focused investment company having subsidiaries with leading companies in their sectors. Shell & Turcas Petroleum, the JV company, Turcas established with The Shell Company of Turkey Ltd. to operate in the fuel retail and lubricants market, is one the largest companies in Turkey. Shell & Turcas operates a nationwide network of Shell branded fuel stations. Turcas also develops geothermal, solar and wind power projects. Turcas and its German partner RWE constructed joint investment, the 775 MW Denizli Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant.
